Chocolate Chip Cookies (with sourdough discard)

These sweet treats are divine! Extra chewy, flavorful, and wholesome. Enjoy this creative way of using your sourdough discard (any extra sourdough starter you have on hand!).

<Recipe>

Ingredients:

 ¾ cup of all-purpose flour

1 cup + 2 tsp. of bread flour

2 tsp. of sea salt

¼ tsp. of baking soda

½ tsp. of baking powder

8 TBS. of butter (cold and cubed)

½ cup brown sugar

½ cup cane sugar

1 egg

2 tsp. vanilla extract

½ cup of sourdough discard

1 ½ cup chocolate chips

 How to:

1.     Start by mixing the dry ingredients.

2.     Next, in a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the egg and mix well. Stir in the vanilla. Add the sourdough discard.

3.     Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Do not overbeat.

4.     Carefully mix in the chocolate chips.

5.     Scoop into balls and place them in the fridge for at least 2 hours. I recommend 24 hours for extra flavor!

6.     Bake them at 375 F for 15-17 minutes. Cool and enjoy!

Happy baking,
