Bonfire Bread

I love making bread over the fire. This is a simple and easy way to enjoy your sourdough!


INGREDIENTS:

1/4 cup of active sourdough starter

2 TBS. of raw sugar or honey

2 1/2 cups of organic flour (1 1/4 cups white and 1/4 wheat)

1 cup of warm water (purified)

1 tsp. of salt

Fill it with:

-nutella

-jam

-hot-dogs

  1. Start 12 hours before. Add ripe starter to water. Mix well. Sprinkle with sugar or honey.

  2. Wait 5 minutes then slowly add the remaining ingredients.

  3. Mix well. Dough should be sticky!

  4. Cover with a light dish cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  5. Fold the dough and stretch the sides.

  6. Let it sit on a warm counter for 4 hours and continue to stretch every hour.

  7. After 4 hours, transfer to a container and place in the fridge.

  8. When the fire is ready- wrap dough around a freshly cut branch. Fill with nutella, jam, or a hotdog.

  9. Cook close to the coals. It will be ready when its lightly brown and doest have a doughy texture.
