Bonfire Bread
I love making bread over the fire. This is a simple and easy way to enjoy your sourdough!
INGREDIENTS:
_____
1/4 cup of active sourdough starter
2 TBS. of raw sugar or honey
2 1/2 cups of organic flour (1 1/4 cups white and 1/4 wheat)
1 cup of warm water (purified)
1 tsp. of salt
_____
Fill it with:
-nutella
-jam
-hot-dogs
_____
Start 12 hours before. Add ripe starter to water. Mix well. Sprinkle with sugar or honey.
Wait 5 minutes then slowly add the remaining ingredients.
Mix well. Dough should be sticky!
Cover with a light dish cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Fold the dough and stretch the sides.
Let it sit on a warm counter for 4 hours and continue to stretch every hour.
After 4 hours, transfer to a container and place in the fridge.
When the fire is ready- wrap dough around a freshly cut branch. Fill with nutella, jam, or a hotdog.
Cook close to the coals. It will be ready when its lightly brown and doest have a doughy texture.
Happy Baking.
