Tea Cookies
TEA TIME ☕️
These sourdough shortbread cookies are actually amazing… I’ve already had 7!
Shortbread Tea Cookies
▫️3 sticks of butter
▫️1 cup of organic cane sugar
▫️1 dash of cinnamon
▫️2 tsp. vanilla
▫️1 tsp. of salt (if butter was unsalted)
▫️1/2 cup sourdough starter (doesn’t need to be ripe)
▫️3 1/3 cups of flour
▫️dark chocolate chips
🫖 Cream together sugar and butter.
🫖 Add cinnamon, vanilla, and salt (if necessary)
🫖 Add sourdough starter.
🫖 Mix in flour (slowly)
🫖Split into two. Form into blocks/bricks. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
🫖 Preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
🫖 Take out the dough and cut into 1/2 inch squares. Like a cookie sheet with parchment. Place the cookies on the sheet close together.
🫖 Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
🫖 Cool slightly. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Dip the corners in the chocolate. Place on a wrack until chocolate is set.
Enjoy with tea! Or all day long ☺️
